पुण्य क्षीण न हो

कराची में एक सार्वजनिक अस्पताल बन रहा था। निर्माता उसके लिए दान माँग रहे थे। दस हजार देने वाले के नाम का पत्थर अस्पताल की दीवार पर लगाने की घोषणा थी।

एक उदार दानी मानकदास ने दस हजार में से एक रूपया कम दिया ताकि उनके दान का विज्ञापन न हो और पुण्य क्षीण न हो।

ज्ञान वही जो महानता जगाए।

ज्ञान की उपयोगिता, आवश्यकता और महत्ता कम करके नहीं समझी जानी चाहिए। जिस प्रकार भोजन करते समय आहार के संबंध में यह जाना-परखा जाता हैं कि उसमें उपयोगी, पौष्टिक तत्त्व हैं या नहीं। उसकी प्रकार ज्ञान संपादन करते समय यह कसौटी लगी रहनी चाहिए कि उसमें ऐसे तत्त्व है या नहीं, जो व्यक्तित्व और कृतित्व को ऊध्र्वगामी बना सकने की क्षमता रखते हैं। अंदर से जो श्रेष्ठ हो, उसी को अपनाया जाए राजहंस एक ऐसी प्रवृत्ति हैं जिसमें अपने दृष्टिकोण को परिवर्तित किया जाता हैं नीर-क्षीर विवके का मानस बने। मोती चुगने और कीड़े छोड़ देने की प्रवृत्ति को अपनाने का प्रयास अनवरत रूप से चलता रहे। मनोरंजन के लिए जो पढ़ा, सुना, देखा जाना हैं, उसमें कटौति करके इस स्तर का ज्ञान संपादन करते रहा जाए जो व्यक्ति के अंतराल में समाहित प्रसुप्त महानताओं का जागरण कर सके। गुण, कर्म, स्वभाव में मानवी गरिमा के अनुरूप सतप्रवृत्तियों को उभारने, बढ़ाने, परिपक्व, सुविस्तृत एवं सुदृढ़ बनाने में समर्थ हो सके।

अपने सोये महापुरूष को जगाएँ

आपके अन्दर भी एक महापुरूष सोया पड़ा हैं, उसे वांछित साधन एवं साधना द्वारा प्रबुद्ध कीजिए और समाज में अपना वह महत्वपूर्ण स्थान प्राप्त कीजिए, जो कही न कही पहले से ही सुरक्षित रखा हैं।

यह संसार कर्मभूमि हैं। मनुष्य कर्म करने के लिए ही इस धराधाम पर अवतरित हुआ हैं। कर्म और निरंतर कर्म ही सिद्धि एवं समृद्धि एवं समृद्धि की आधार शिला हैं। कर्मवीर, कर्मयोगी तथा कर्मठ व्यक्ति कितनी ही निम्न स्थिति, सामान्य श्रेणी और पिछड़ी हुई अवस्था में क्यों न पड़ा हो आगे बढ़कर, परिस्थितियों को परास्त कर अपना निर्दिष्ट स्थान प्राप्त कर ही लेता हैं। कर्म की गति काल भी रोक सकने में असमर्थ हैं। उठिए अपना लक्ष्य प्राप्त करके दिशा देखिए कि वह किधर आपकी प्रतीक्षा कर रही हैं ? अपने उद्योग को उद्यत एवं कर्मशक्ति को चैतन्य कीजिए और यह मानकर जीवनपथ पर अभियान कीजिए कि आप एक महापुरूष है, आपको अपने अनुरूप अपने चरित्रबल पर समाज में अपना स्थान बना ही लेना हैं।

मिल न पाए ‘सद्गुरू’ यदि, मनुज जन्म पाने के बाद।

कौन दिखलाएगा पथ, गुरू बिन भटक जाने के बाद।।

दान

एक नगर में एक सेठ रहता था, गरीबों और असहायों के लिए उसके यहाँ सदावर्त बँटता रहता था। वह माँगने वालों की नीची दृष्टि से देता रहता था। एक दिन एक व्यक्ति ने उनसे नीची दृष्टि रखने का कारण पूछा तो उसने उत्तर दिया-‘‘देने वाला तो दूसरा हैं भाई ! वह दिन-रात देता हैं। मैं उसी की दी हुई संपत्ति दान करता हूँ, परंतु लोग मुझे ही दानी कहते हैं। इससे मुझे लज्जा आती हैं। ’’

निरहंकार भाव से किया गया दान ही सच्चा दान हैं। क्योंकि हमारे पास ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं हैं, जिसे हम अपना कह सकें।

यदि मैं ही क्रुद्ध हो जाता तो.....

साधु स्वामीनाथन की कुटिया गाँव के पास ही थी। प्रायः प्रतिदिन सायंकाल ग्रामीण लोग उनके पास जाते और धर्मचर्चा का लाभ प्राप्त करते। 

जब संध्या भजन का समय आता गाँव के दो नटखट लड़के आ धमकते और कहते-‘‘महात्मन् ! आपसे ज्ञान प्राप्त करने आए हैं।’’ फिर शुरू करते गप्पें, बीच-बीच में साधु को चिढ़ाने, गुस्सा दिलाने वाली बातें भी करते जाते। उनका तो मनोरंजन होता, पर स्वामीनाथन का भजन-पूजन का समय निकल जाता। यह क्रम महीनों चलता रहा, पर साधु एक दिन भी गुस्सा नहीं हुए। बालकों के साथ बात करते हुए आप भी हँसते रहते।

बहुत दिन बाद भी जब वे नटखट लड़के उन्हें क्रुद्ध न कर सके तो उन्हें अपने आप पर क्षोभ हुआ। उन्होंने क्षमा माँगते हुए पूछा-‘‘महात्मन् ! हमने जान-बूझकर आपको चिढ़ाने का प्रयत्न किया फिर भी आप न कभी खीझे, न क्रुद्ध हुए।’’

स्वामीनाथन ने हँसते हुए कहा-‘‘ वत्स ! यदि मैं ही क्रुद्ध हो जाता तो आप सबको सिखा क्या पाता ?’’

स्वयं आवेश में आकर असंतुलित हो जाने वाले दूसरों का सुधार नहीं कर सकते।
