सतयुग की वापसी - सार संक्षेप

इस सदी की समापन वेला में अब तक हुई प्रगति के बाद एक ही निष्कर्ष निकलता है कि संवेदना का स्रोत तेजी से सूखा है, मानवी अंतराल खोखला हुआ है। भाव संवेदना जहाँ जीवंत - जाग्रत होती है वहाँ स्वतः ही सतयुगी वातावरण विनिर्मित होता चला जाता है। भाव संवेदना से भरे-पूरे व्यक्ति ही उस रीति-निति को समझ पाते हैं, जिसके आधार पर संपदाओं का, सुविधाओं का सदुपयोग बन पाता है।

समर्थता, कुशलता और संपन्नता की आए दिनों जय-जयकार होती देखी जाती है। यह भी सुनिश्चित है की इन्हीं तीन क्षेत्रों में फैली अराजकता ने वे संकट खड़े किए हैं, जिनसे किसी प्रकार उबरने के लिए व्यक्ति और समाज छटपटा रहा है। इन तीनों से ऊपर उठकर एक चौथी शक्ति है - भाव संवेदना। यही दैवी अनुदान के रूप में जब मनुष्य की स्वच्छ अंतरात्मा पर उतरती है तो उसे निहाल बनाकर रख देती है। इस एक के आधार पर ही अनेकानेक दैवी तत्त्व उभरते चले जाते हैं।

सतयुग की वापसी इसी संवेदना के जागरण, करुणा के उभार से होगी। बस एक ही विकल्प इन दिनों है - भाव संवेदना का जागरण। उज्ज्वल भविष्य का यदि कोई सुनिश्चित आधार है तो वह एक ही है कि जन-जन की भाव संवेदनाओं को उत्कृष्ट, आदर्श और उदात्त बनाया जाए। इसी से वह विश्व उद्यान हरा-भरा, फला-फूला व संपन्न बन सकेगा।

Today’s empathy deficit and the promise of a better future

As this century* draws to a close and we take stock of all the progress we have made till now, one cannot help but draw a conclusion that the once vibrant and rich spring of empathy within us is rapidly drying up and we all are increasingly becoming empty inside.

In an empathic civilization, where people acknowledge and act upon commonalities we have as humans, there exists an environment that is conducive to a bright future for the global community.

Only empathetic people can understand and relate to a system by which proper and just utilization of resources and facilities is possible. To empathize is to civilize, it is only through empathy that we can dream of a society based on common values, working towards a common good.

We are quite fond of eulogizing talent, excellence and opulence.

But at the same time it's quite true that widespread anarchy in these very areas is responsible for the dire straits in which humanity is in today.

These are the very factors that are responsible for this present calamitous situation from which man and society are struggling to emerge.

There is a power superlative to these three - Common humaneness or empathy.

Empathy is above sympathy, to be sympathetic is to understand the pain of others, to be empathetic is to go beyond, project our sensibilities towards that person, put ourselves in their shoes and experience (be it in a limited way) what the other person is going through.

When this divine blessing [empathy], descends on a pure soul it embraces that soul with bliss. On the basis of this alone, innumerable divine traits arise and express themselves within us. The return of paradise [heavenly atmosphere of peace, bliss and harmony] on earth, the promise of a better and just future for everyone, is possible only via the awakening of this sentiment - empathy, common humaneness, rekindling of compassion.

There is just one way - revival and recommitting to our most human of traits - Empathy.

If there is any foundation on which we can lay our plans for a bright future for everyone, then it is this - to arise, awaken common humaneness in everyone and make it superlative, ideal and noble. Empathy is in everyone, it's one of our most basic traits, one with which we are born with, but to lay the foundation of a better society, we must make it excellent, flawless and virtuous.

This is the only way by which this beautiful world of ours can thrive and flourish.
